Passenger on first Caribbean cruise since March tests positive for COVID-19

A passenger aboard the very first cruise in the Caribbean because the onset of the pandemic apparently evaluated favorable for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The initial favorable, the results of a rapid test on SeaDream Yacht Clubs SeaDream 1, was reported by Gene Sloan, a senior travel press reporter covering the voyage for The Points Guy.
Sloan said the vessels captain, Torbjorn Lund, announced the case by means of shipwide intercom simply afternoon as the ship was anchored in the Grenadines.
All travelers and non-essential team were informed to separate in their cabins.
The SeaDream 1, carrying 53 passengers and 66 team, began its cruise on Saturday from its home port of Barbados. It will now return there, Sloane wrote.
The vessel was the first to travel the Caribbean given that March.
Sloan said that in order to board the ship, all travelers had to check negative two times– as soon as days before departure and another the day of. A 3rd test was slated for Wednesday.
The traveler who checked positive felt sick leading up to the test, the captain had announced.
